Hello, I am Beth Madeley, an animator & draw-er who has lived in Oslo since graduating from Kingston School of Art in 2019.
I specialise in the dying (or reviving) art of hand-drawn pencil-on-paper analog 2D animation. I love the textures and happy accidents that come with physical materials; ink splotches, eraser marks and charcoal smudges.
When animating digitally, I enjoy replicating physical media using a frame-by-frame technique, as well as creating flatter and vibrant animations centred on character design.
I am interested in sex education, medical history, intersectional feminism and advocacy.
In 2020 I was awarded Silver in the Canadian Digital Publishing Awards in the category 'Best Online Video: Short' for 'Visiting Day'.
